Kelly Tilghman Regrets "Lynch" Remark About Tiger Woods
Published January 8, 2008
Golf Channel announcer Kelly Tilghman "made an unfortunate comment in jest" on-air last Friday during the PGA Tour's Mercedes Championship, according to Neil Best of NEWSDAY. She said today's young players should "lynch Tiger Woods in a back alley." A Golf Channel spokesperson indicated that Tilghman "immediately regretted the remark and apologized on the telecast Sunday. She also reached out to Woods' people to express her regrets" (NEWSDAY, 1/8).
