In Charlotte, Rick Bonnell reports Bobcats Managing Member of Basketball Operations Michael Jordan practiced with the team yesterday, and he “taped over the adidas logo on his Bobcats practice jersey” (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 12/19)....The Champ Car Grand Prix of Toronto confirmed that Steelback Breweries will not be back as title sponsor of the race in ’08. Steelback financier Wasanda Enterprises gained court protection from creditors for Steelback, which “negated all contracts … including the four-year sponsorship deal for the Grand Prix.” Grand Prix Association of Toronto President & CEO Charlie Johnstone said that the race will still be held, and “about six parties have expressed interest” in the title sponsorship (TORONTO STAR, 12/19)....Toyota will push its Sequoia SUV during NBC’s “American Gladiators,” which debuts January 6, as the car “will be awarded to winners as part of the grand prize.” The company will also see various integrations during the show, which is “part of a significant ad buy” (DAILY VARIETY, 12/19).
