'Semi-Pro' Star Will Ferrell To Appear In A-B Spots For XLII
Published December 18, 2007
Actor Will Ferrell is in talks with Anheuser-Busch about appearing in one of the company's Super Bowl XLII ads on Fox on February 3, according to Holly Sanders of the N.Y. POST. Should A-B choose the spot for the game, Ferrell will appear in the commercial as his character from the upcoming film, "Semi-Pro," which opens February 29. In the film, Ferrell plays Jackie Moon, the "player-coach-owner of the fictional Flint (Michigan) Tropics" from the '70s-era ABA. In other celebrity tie-ins, Justin Timberlake is filming a Super Bowl spot with Pepsi, while Hershey's "has a Super Bowl ad deal" with Carmen Electra (N.Y. POST, 12/18).
