hhgregg Inks Deal To Become A
Founding Partner Of Lucas Oil Stadium
Indianapolis-based electronics and appliance retailer hhgregg has inked a "million-dollar-plus sponsorship” of the Colts' new Lucas Oil Stadium, set to open in '08, according to Dana Knight of the INDIANAPOLIS STAR. The sponsorship will include a “26,000-square-foot hhgregg showroom” located at the south gate of the stadium, where fans will be able to “interact with the latest products, get real-time scores from NFL games … and check their fantasy football results" and the retailer can “show off its large-screen televisions and other products.” While the dollar amount of the sponsorship has not been disclosed, Colts Owner Jim Irsay said the deal is worth “more than $1[M] and less than [QB] Peyton Manning makes;" Manning has a nine-year, $99.2M contract. Colts Senior VP/Sales & Marketing Tom Zupancic indicated that eight of the 14 founding stadium partners have been revealed, and the “remaining six will be announced soon” (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 12/11).
