Oregon Loves Lucy: Women's Clothier Opens New Flagship Store
Published December 7, 2007
Portland-based women's activewear retailer Lucy two weeks ago "opened a flagship store" in Washington Square, a mall in the Portland area, the 60th location for the company, according to Christina Lima of the Portland OREGONIAN. Lucy Founder Sue Levin started the company as an Internet business in '99, and company officials "plan to open 20 more stores annually until 200 are up and running." The new store will have 2,000 square-feet or retail space, compared to 1,500 generally found in Lucy stores. Lucy Dir of Marketing Crista Lindberg said, "We do very well outside of urban areas. ... Washington Square is the premier shopping center in the Portland area" (Portland OREGONIAN, 12/6).
