Do You Know The Way? MLL Dragons Will Move, Keep S.F. Moniker
Published December 7, 2007
The MLL S.F. Dragons will move their home games from Kezar Stadium in S.F. to San Jose State Univ.’s Spartan Stadium due to a new arrangement with stadium operators Global Spectrum and SJSU. The stadium, which also hosts SJSU’s soccer and football games, has a soccer capacity of 30,000 (Dragons). In San Jose, Elliott Almond noted the team will keep “San Francisco” in its name “because [team] officials consider it a regional identity.” Dragons President Henry Molloy said that because the NLL San Jose Stealth’s January-April schedule “doesn’t conflict with the Dragons, … the clubs share some staff members” (SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS, 12/5).
