D'Backs New Pricing Plan Favors Season-Ticket Holders
Published December 5, 2007
Fans purchasing D'Backs full-season ticket packages for the '08 season will "receive at least a 50[%] discount over premier single-game ticket prices," according to Steve Gilbert of MLB.com. The new pricing plan includes "reduced prices for 29[%] of the seats at Chase Field and no price increase for 76[%] of them." D'Backs President Derrick Hall said, "It remains our philosophy to reward our most loyal fans, who make a commitment to us" (MLB.com, 12/3). In Arizona, Jack Magruder reported the ticket plan "gives a greater price break to season-ticket holders than the one adopted last season." The "biggest jump occurred for single-game buyers." Hall said, "We tried to create a gap to encourage people to buy season tickets." A season-ticket holder this season will pay $110 per-seat per-game for a clubhouse box, the same as '07, while a single-game ticket for the same seat will cost $220 for each of 20 "premium games" and $215 for all others, up from $185 for premium games and $175 for all others last season (EAST VALLEY TRIBUNE, 12/3).
