Kansas-Missouri Game On Saturday Out-
Rates Next Day's Seahawks-Rams Game
In St. Louis, Dan Caesar reports the Missouri-Kansas football game on Saturday night, which had national championship implications, out-rated the Seahawks-Rams game Sunday, marking what is thought to be the “first time a regular-season college football game has outdrawn the Rams in the 13 seasons the NFL team has been in town.” Missouri-Kansas was seen in 25.9% of homes in the St. Louis market on KDNL-ABC, 1.7% more than the audience for Seahawks-Rams on KTVI-Fox (ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH, 11/27).

THE PERILS OF LIVE TV: CBS Sports VP/Communications LeslieAnne Wade said analyst Steve Beuerlein was kidding when he called Titans RB LenDale White a “USC thug” during the team’s game against the Bengals Sunday. Beuerlein, who played at Notre Dame, made the comment after White received a personal foul for kneeing a Bengal near the end of the first half. Wade indicated that Beuerlein “was joking off-air with play-by-play man Bill Macatee and was unaware the telecast had resumed.” Wade added that Macatee “lives in southern California and follows [USC] football” (TENNESSEAN, 11/27).

HORSE SENSE: Cox Communications has launched HorseRacing TV on its digital sports tier in the New Orleans market. The network will broadcast live coverage of the 81-day meet at Fair Grounds Race Course, which began on Thanksgiving (MULTICHANNEL.com, 11/21).
