Red Sox' Charles Steinberg Leaving To Become Dodgers CMO
Published November 27, 2007
Red Sox Exec VP/Public Affairs CHARLES STEINBERG is expected to be announced today as Dodgers CMO, according to Gordon Edes of the BOSTON GLOBE. A source said that Steinberg will receive a long-term deal worth over $500,000 annually. The Red Sox “offered to extend his contract but their offer was dwarfed by the one made by the Dodgers” (BOSTON GLOBE, 11/27). Steinberg, who did some consulting for the Dodgers last season, created the Fenway Ambassadors program, was the "guiding force behind the team's grandest ceremonies, ... and was the innovator behind such popular occasions as the Father's Day catch at Fenway" (BOSTON.com, 11/26).
