Hop To It: A-B's Tony Ponturo Moving To N.Y. HQs, Retains Title
Published November 26, 2007
Anheuser-Busch VP/Global Media & Sports Marketing Tony Ponturo “will relocate to [N.Y.] early next year while keeping his same title and responsibilities,” according to Terry Lefton in this week's SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL. Ponturo: "It’s the same job and title, but moving to New York, headquarters to major media and sports leagues: An analogy would be the company moving one of its generals to the front lines, where the action is.” Lefton notes the move follows A-B’s “reorganization earlier this year” under which Ponturo now reports to new A-B VP/Marketing Dave Peacock instead of CEO August Busch IV. It is “not clear whether any other sports marketing staff will relocate" with Ponturo (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 11/26 issue).
