Eric Lindros Named To New NHLPA Ombudsman Position
Published November 12, 2007
The NHLPA has appointed former NHLer Eric Lindros, who announced his retirement last week, to the new Ombudsman position created under the recently ratified NHLPA Constitution. The union also promoted Associate Counsel Ian Penny to General Counsel (NHLPA). Meanwhile, the N.Y. POST’s Larry Brooks notes NHLPA Exec Dir Paul Kelly met in N.Y. with NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman last week, but both men “agreed to keep the content of their conversation confidential.” Kelly has been “invited to address the [BOG] at their meeting at the end of the month” (N.Y. POST, 11/12).
