The Magic named Wild VP/Sales & Service STEVE GRIGGS Exec VP/Sales & Marketing (Magic)....Florida State Univ. AD DAVE HART will leave the school at the end of this year, though his contract runs through '09. FSU will reportedly name Flagler College Chancellor BILL PROCTOR interim AD (PALM BEACH POST, 10/26)....Ashworth appointed ALLAN FLETCHER CEO and GREG SLACK CFO. Former CEO PETER WEIL resigned to spend more time with his family. Ashworth Exec VP, CFO & Treasurer ERIC HOHL has also left the company (Ashworth)....HDNet named ANDREW SIMON CEO of HDNet Fights, the net’s new venture into MMA. Simon will work with GUY MEZGER, who was named HDNet Fights GM. Previously, Simon was VP/Marketing & Sales at Cox Communication in Las Vegas (HDNet)....Chief Supt. BUD MERCER was named Assistant Commissioner in charge of the 2010 Vancouver Games Integrated Security Unit. Mercer replaces Chief Supt. BOB HARRIMAN, who left to pursue “other opportunities” earlier this year (VANCOUVER PROVINCE, 10/25)....Reliant Energy promoted Manager ROCKY HARRIS to Dir of Sports & Marketing Sponsorships (Reliant).
FRANCHISES: The Dodgers promoted DE JON WATSON to Assistant GM of Player Development and TODD TOMCZYK to Assistant Athletic Trainer, and named SUE FALSONE MLB’s first-ever female physical therapist (Dodgers)....The Astros named BOBBY HECK Dir of Amateur Scouting. For the past nine seasons, Heck was Eastern Scouting Supervisor for the Brewers (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 10/25)....The Single-A South Atlantic League Greensboro Grasshoppers announced VP/Baseball Operations KATIE DANNEMILLER was selected as the ’07 South Atlantic League Woman of the Year (Grasshoppers).
