Southern Exposure: CBS Charts 10% Increase For SEC Telecasts

Through six SEC football telecasts this season, CBS has averaged a 3.3/7 Nielsen rating, up 10.0% from a 3.0/7 through seven telecasts last season. On cable, both ESPN and ESPN2 have also shown increases in coverage area ratings from the same point last season. Versus is also showing an increase in ratings, as the net picked up games in the Pac-10 and Big 12, highlighted by the Stanford-USC upset, a game which helped the net rank among the top ten nets (cable & broadcast) in six major West Coast markets on October 6. The following presents an NCAA football ratings update, with comparisons to the similar period in '06 (THE DAILY).
