PGA Tour Promotes James Cramer To Special Assistant To Finchem

The naming of RON CROSS to Exec Dir of The Players Championship resulted in some changes to the PGA Tour's communications department. Commissioner TIM FINCHEM named Senior Communications Dir JAMES CRAMER to Cross' old position as Special Assistant to the Commissioner. In a memo to staffers earlier this month, Finchem wrote the transition "has already begun and will be completed over the next several weeks." Two promotions were made to fill Cramer's former duties, which included oversight of the Tour's day-to-day PR and communications and the management of staff at each tournament. LAURA NEAL was promoted from Championship Management Communications Dir to Senior Dir and will continue to handle PR for events like the WGCs and The Presidents Cup. Communications Manager JOEL SCHUCHMANN was promoted to Senior Communications Manager. Both will report to Senior VP/PR & Communications BOB COMBS.
