Arlington Capital Partners Buys Daily Racing Form

DC-based private equity firm Arlington Capital Partners is purchasing the Daily Racing Form and its Web site from N.Y.-based Wicks Group for $170-190M, according to sources cited by Thomas Heath of the WASHINGTON POST. The publication, which has a circulation of more than 12 million, and the Web site will become part of an Arlington Capital venture called Sports Information Group. The deal “includes platforms featuring online content for other sports.” The Daily Racing Form was founded in 1894 (WASHINGTON POST, 10/19). Wicks acquired the publication in '04 for a reported $75M (THE DAILY).
