Aegon Replaces ABN Amro As AFC Ajax's Top Sponsor
Published October 19, 2007
Netherlands-based insurance company Aegon has signed an agreement to be the main sponsor of Dutch soccer club AFC Ajax for at least seven years beginning with the '08-09 season, replacing ABN Amro, the team's top sponsor for 19 seasons. Aegon will pay the club US$14.3-17.1M annually for the sponsorship, depending on the teams performance, and as part of the agreement, the Aegon brand name will appear on Ajax' game jerseys. AMB Amro will retain a small sponsorship with the club (THE DAILY).
