Nationals Ink Three-Year Radio Broadcast Deal With 3WT
Published October 18, 2007
The Nationals and Bonneville Int’l Corp. have formally announced a three-year radio rights deal that will keep all the team's regular-season games and ten spring training games on WWWT-AM and WWWT-FM. Included in the deal will be special programming such as a second year of the “Nationals Talk Live” call-in show, two new one-hour editions of “Nationals Weekly Insider,” and a “Countdown to Opening Day” series beginning March 1 in anticipation of the opening of the team’s new ballpark. A previous report said the agreement does not involve a rights fee and that the team will sell most of the ad time for its game broadcasts (THE DAILY). The Nats are also “in talks to bring back” radio personalities Charlie Slowes and Dave Jageler. Meanwhile, MASN has offered Nationals play-by-play announcer Bob Carpenter an extension through the ’08 season (WASHINGTON TIMES, 10/18).
