AOL Sports Editor & GM Scarbrough Let Go As Part Of Cutbacks
Published October 18, 2007
AOL officials confirmed that AOL Sports Editor & GM NEAL SCARBROUGH has been laid off as part of a massive 2,000-person cutback the company is pursuing. Scarbrough was not available for comment, and the future plans for either him or the leadership of AOL Sports are not immediately known. Scarbrough, however, did tell the National Association of Black Journalists earlier this week, "I am A-OK. The phone has been ringing and something great will happen soon. If not, I'll be able to feed my family for months and months and months to come." Scarbrough, formerly an editor with ESPN The Magazine and ESPN.com, joined AOL in May '06.
