Per the deal, the Florida Panthers TicketExchange service will launch this season, enabling ticket holders to resell home-game tickets (Ticketmaster)....A study conducted by Hillsdale College economics professor Gary Wolfram found that Michigan Int’l Speedway (MIS) has “generated more economic impact” in the Detroit area than did Super Bowl XL. MIS generates over $400M in total economic impact annually, compared with an estimated $302M for the Super Bowl, with more than $260M of MIS' take in “direct economic impact.” Wolfram said the track's impact on Michigan’s economy "is like having a Super Bowl every single year.” MIS holds two NASCAR Sprint Cup races a year, but lost its IRL race (SCENEDAILY.com, 10/16)....The city of Fort Wayne, Indiana, has hired HOK Sport to design its new $30M, 5,000-seat downtown baseball stadium, part of the $120M Harrison Square project. The Fort Wayne Redevelopment Commission approved a $1.7M contract for HOK’s design (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 10/18). SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL reported on the project when ranking Fort Wayne as the top minor league market (SBJ, 8/20 Issue).
