Site Taking Ticket Deposits For Hamilton Predators Shuttered
Published October 17, 2007
RIM co-CEO Jim Balsillie’s attorney Richard Rodier said the Web site set up by Balsillie to accept season-ticket deposits in Hamilton for the relocated Predators has been shut down, according to Steve Milton of the HAMILTON SPECTATOR. A message on the site says, “All deposits made by Internet and phone will receive an automatic credit to the purchasing card, no action is required. Refunds will be seen on your next credit card statement.” Earlier this week, the local group bidding on the Predators said that it had received a copy of a deposit confirmation for seats for the “Hamilton Predators NHL Franchise” dated Monday. Rodier said Balsillie’s latest proposal for the Predators “speaks to the issue of [his] view of the Nashville market. And for the [Nashville] group to try to spin that differently -- by signing up for a deposit on a defunct website -- is unfortunate” (HAMILTON SPECTATOR, 10/17).
