In Akron, George Thomas reports carriage negotiations between Time Warner Cable and FSN Ohio, broadcast home of the Cavaliers, “are no longer stalled,” and the two sides “have reached a deal in principle.” FSN Ohio officials said that “negotiations continue and the restoration of the [HD] feed is on a game-by-game basis” (Akron BEACON JOURNAL, 10/10)....Comcast is moving 100 of its top mangers at Versus from Stamford, Connecticut, to Philadelphia following the ’08 NHL playoffs. Comcast Programming Group President Jeff Shell said that the managers “will take offices in the Comcast Center, part of several hundred people in the programming group occupying four floors of the new building.” The Versus studios will remain in Stamford, but Shell said that all 100 employees with jobs eliminated there “will be offered new ones in Philadelphia” (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 10/9)....The season two premiere of NBC’s “Friday Night Lights” drew 6.4 million viewers on Friday, down 16.7% from the 7.2 million who watched the series premiere on a Tuesday in ’06 (USA TODAY, 10/10)....While Patriots-Cowboys will be seen in the about 90% of the U.S. on Sunday, KCBS in L.A. will air Raiders-Chargers at 1:00pm PT.  KCBS VP/Communications Mike Nelson said, “The NFL considers [L.A.] a secondary market for the Chargers, so NFL regulations require CBS to carry the Chargers home games, unless it isn’t sold out”  (L.A. TIMES, 10/10). California baseball fans Robert and Carol Nagy yesterday filed a suit in Federal court against Sports Illustrated and photographer John Iacono, claiming that Iacono dropped camera equipment on Robert’s head during Cardinals-Red Sox World Series Game Two in ’04. Nagy claims that the accident “has cost him $2[M] in lost income." Carol seeks compensation for “loss of consortium” in her marriage (BOSTON HERALD, 10/10).
