Crosby Exerts Influence: Reebok To Tweak NHL Jerseys
Published October 5, 2007
Reebok has “tweaked the jerseys” of the Edge uniforms that are being used by every team in the NHL this season “thanks at least in part to concerns expressed by” Penguins C Sidney Crosby, according to Shelly Anderson of the PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE. Crosby, a Reebok endorser, described to a company exec “how the water-resistant jerseys trap perspiration, which pools in players’ gloves and skates.” Crosby: “They’ve come up with a resolution for that. … They want to make sure that the product is the best it can be. It’s nice that they will listen to feedback from the players.” NHL and Reebok officials could not be reached for comment, and it is unclear what changes were made or “whether the new version of the sweaters will be available to the Penguins in their season opener" Friday against the Hurricanes.
(THE) KID'S CHARITIES: Crosby and LW Mark Recchi have each purchased a Mellon Arena suite for the ’07-08 season “to be used by various regional children’s charities,” including the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Crosby’s suite and Big Brothers/Big Sisters in Recchi’s for Saturday’s home opener against the Ducks (PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE, 10/5).
