Nationwide Reaches Deal To Title Sponsor NASCAR's No. 2 Series
Published October 3, 2007
Nationwide has reached an agreement to be the title sponsor of NASCAR's No. 2 series beginning in ‘08, sources say, replacing Anheuser-Busch. Terms of the deal were not available. The Columbus, Ohio-based insurance company, which ranked No. 104 on the ‘06 Fortune 500 list, submitted an offer to NASCAR last Thursday and finalized an agreement yesterday. NASCAR did not respond to a request for comment this morning, but sources say an announcement could come as soon as today. Subway, which had been considered a frontrunner for much of the process, also submitted an offer. Nationwide is the official insurance of SMI tracks.
