Hidden Camera: NFL Investigating How Pats Tape Got Leaked
Published September 19, 2007
The NFL is conducting "an internal review to determine how a copy of the Patriots' videotape that spied on Jets signals during the teams' game ended up being aired on Fox's NFL pregame show on Sunday," according to Chris Mortensen of ESPN.com. NFL Senior VP/PR Greg Aiello: "We don't know how it happened and we're obviously not happy about it." Mortensen noted "one theory that should be put to rest is that multiple copies of the tape had been disbursed from the office and into the hands of the league's competition committee." Aiello said, "There were no authorized distribution of any copies of the tape from the league office" (ESPN.com, 9/18).
