Octagon's BRIAN LAWTON, who headed up the firm's hockey division, has resigned to “pursue a job working for an NHL club.” Lawton will remain as a consultant until he finds a new job (Liz Mullen, SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 9/17 issue)….MLS hired former Hornets President Paul Mott to run its enhanced division. Before joining the Hornets, Mott spend four years as NBA Senior Dir of Team Marketing & Business Development, and also has worked as MLS VP/Club Services. Mott served as a consultant for MLS before joining the staff full-time. He will be assisted by VP/Team Services Brad Pursel (Tripp Mickle, SBJ, 9/17 issue)....L.A.-based Premier Partnerships named Stephanie Cheng Associate Consultant heading up the company’s valuation business and Robert Le Marketing Assistant (THE DAILY)….Aerva named Mike Beauvais VP/Sales & Marketing (THE DAILY).
