NASCARDS: Poker Web Site Allows Users To Play Drivers
Published September 27, 2007
Massachusetts-based Power Play Development, in collaboration with parent company Poker Creations, has launched the Victory Lane Players Club Web site, which allows members to play against NASCAR Nextel Cup drivers Dale Earnhardt Jr., Tony Stewart, Jamie McMurray, Kasey Kahne, Elliott Sadler and Dale Jarrett, according to David Exum of the BOSTON HERALD. Instead of winning cash, members use a points-based system to win autographed merchandise, tickets to upcoming races and other NASCAR-related prizes. The Web site offers free play, but a $20 subscription gives members advance notice when drivers are playing online. Club members can also meet drivers at exclusive events and are given priority when “customer service questions arise.” VLP Club CEO Bruce McMeikan said that the site is the “first to give NASCAR fans this kind of access to some of the top names in the sport” (BOSTON HERALD, 9/27).
