Yahoo Sports Bests ESPN.com For Top Sports Site In August

The start of the NFL fantasy season boosted Yahoo Sports to the top spot amongst sports sites during August, bringing in 18.4 million unique visitors, according to traffic results from Nielsen/NetRatings. Compared to August '06, unique visitors to Yahoo Sports were up 36.2%. ESPN.com slipped to the second spot for the first time since February, despite increases in unique visitors and time spent per visitor. The following presents unique visitors and average time spent per visitor for the top sports sites in August '07, with comparisons to the same point last year as well as July '07 (Nielsen/NetRatings).
