New Hampshire Int’l Speedway Owner Bob Bahre said that he is "not in negotiations” with Red Sox Owner John Henry to sell the track to Fenway Sports Group (FSG). Bahre confirmed that he "has had recent discussions with Henry and [FSG President] Mike Dee about selling" NHIS, but said that “nothing substantial has transpired in terms of a sale" (BOSTON HERALD, 9/12).

Joel To Be Last Performer At
Shea Stadium Before Demolition
PARKED: The N.Y. Industrial Development Agency yesterday postponed a vote to approve a $225M taxpayer subsidy on parking garages for the new Yankee Stadium after Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion’s office “complained the agency was withholding critical information.” Carrion’s office was denied copies of the draft lease agreement and feasibility study, as well as an explanation of why the deal rose from $190M to $225M. The bonds would benefit Bronx Parking Development Co., a "shell corporation set up ... specifically to receive the city taxpayer subsidy," and if revenue is below expectations, it could "walk away at any time.”  That would leave N.Y. and its taxpayers responsible to repay the triple tax-exempt bonds used to finance construction (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 9/12).

FAMOUS LAST WORDS: Billy Joel is scheduled to be the final performer at Shea Stadium before the venue is demolished after the '08 MLB season. No dates have been set for the string of concerts (NEWSDAY, 9/12).
