The PGA Tour's inaugural playoff for the FedEx Cup tees off today, and the absence of Tiger Woods from this week's event in New York, confusion over the points system and the perception that the majors and Ryder Cup are still the events that really matter are all cited as potential deal breakers. But despite their initial tepid buy-in, players seem to be warming up to the concept, and the playoff has achieved at least one of its goals: people are talking about golf after the PGA Championship.
