Adams Considering Selling Interest In AFL Team

AFL Kats Owner Bud Adams “is considering selling” the team following last season’s poor attendance numbers, according to Jessica Hopp of the Nashville TENNESSEAN. Adams said the Kats ownership group is “currently undergoing a complete review and evaluation of our strategic alternatives regarding the 2008 AFL season,” including "potential new partners or change in ownership.” Adams also indicated that the Kats “have concerns about their lease” at Sommet Center, "which could be affected" by the pending sale of the Predators, the venue’s primary tenant. Hopp noted the Kats' average attendance for eight home games last season was 7,962, third lowest in the AFL at a time when the league “set attendance milestones” of 12,392 fans per game and over 2 million through the playoffs (Nashville TENNESSEAN, 8/18).
