LeBron James' LRMR Signs Ginn For Marketing Representation
Published August 6, 2007
Cleveland-based LRMR Marketing, the company co-founded by Cavaliers F LeBron James, has inked a deal to represent Dolphins first-round draft pick Ted Ginn Jr. for “off-the-field endeavors,” according to Liz Mullen of SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL. Ginn, who played his college ball at Ohio State Univ., is the first athlete LRMR has signed. Ginn will still employ agent Neil Cornrich for contract work, as LRMR “has no plans to negotiate playing contracts.” LRMR CEO Maverick Carter said that “a shoe deal and local deals in Ohio and Miami may come before big, national endorsements” (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 8/6 issue). Ginn: “A lot of football guys don’t get a lot of marketing their first couple years coming out. You’ve got to do big things to do that” (AP, 8/5).
