Tomlinson Inks 5-Year Deal With PPH To Become Health Advocate
Published July 25, 2007
Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson has teamed with California-based Palomar Pomerado Health (PPH) as a health advocate under a five-year deal. Tomlinson will be involved in raising awareness, educating the community and helping find solutions to childhood obesity, diabetes, cardiac care and other health-related issues. PPH will launch a program called Project21SD – after Tomlinson’s No. 21 jersey – that will address several health issues (PPH). In San Diego, Keith Darce reports that under the deal, Tomlinson's name could appear “on one of several new hospital towers and medical clinics being built.” Tomlinson's association with PPH “could be his largest single philanthropic undertaking," however it is unclear whether Tomlinson's role with PPH “includes a cash donation or a promise to help raise money” (SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE, 7/25).
