Disney PGA Tour Event Close To Landing Title Sponsorship
Published July 13, 2007
The PGA Tour Disney Golf Classic is “in talks with the Children’s Miracle Network [CMN] and one of the charity’s corporate partners” in an effort to keep the Tour’s season-ending event at Walt Disney World and “fill an estimated $4[M] annual title sponsorship hole,” according to Scott Hamilton of GOLFWEEK. CMN CMO Craig Sorensen said that the charity and its partner “would be featured in the tournament’s new title." Hamilton notes the parties are “trying to finalize a multiyear deal before the end of July.” The title sponsorship became available when Japanese-based electronics company Funai’s four-year deal expired following last year’s event (GOLFWEEK, 7/14 issue).
