International Relations: Magic Do Not Want Arena On I-Drive
Published July 13, 2007
Magic COO Alex Martins said that the team does not want its new arena on the International Drive corridor, a popular spot for out-of-town tourists, according to Damron, Schlueb & Bianchi of the ORLANDO SENTINEL. Martins previously had stated that the club “would follow politicians’ lead on where to build their new home.” He said Thursday that internal franchise polls showed nearly 67% of season-ticket holders “would not renew if the team moves to International Drive” (ORLANDO SENTINEL, 7/13).
