English Premier League club Chelsea unveiled a new training HQs in Cobham, Surrey. The multimillion-pound development has rehabilitation, medical and media facilities, and “deploys biometric finger print scanning technology to ensure the security of players and club officials” (TIMESONLINE.co.uk, 7/5).

OL' COLLEGE TRY: Organizers of the Save Rosenblatt campaign have placed billboards around southern Omaha as part of a plan to “generate public support for fixing up Rosenblatt Stadium instead of building a new downtown ballpark.”  The group has collected more than 4,000 signatures from people “who want the city to keep the aging ballpark,” which hosts the College World Series (Omaha WORLD-HERALD, 7/3).

COMPASS WATCH: Compass Facility Management has changed its name to VenuWorks.  It will take about a year to completely phase in the new identity, which includes a new logo, tagline and corporate position statement.  The company’s new tagline is “Fulfilling promises. Creating success.”  The rebranding was guided by Cedar Rapids-based Henry Russell Bruce (VenuWorks).
