NBC: NBC earned a 2.0/6 overnight for yesterday’s first-round coverage of the U.S. Open from 3:00-5:00pm ET, down 4.8% from a 2.1/6 for last year’s first round....NBC's 1.8/6 for the French Open men’s final, in which Rafael Nadal defeated Roger Federer for his third consecutive French title, was even with the 1.8/5 rating for the same matchup last year. Viewership was up 1.2% , 2,424,000 vs. 2,395,000 last year (THE DAILY).
MLB NOTES: FSN Detroit earned an 8.6 HH rating in the Detroit market for the Brewers-Tigers game on Tuesday night, when Tigers P Justin Verlander recorded a no-hitter. The "Tigers Live" postgame show posted an 8.3 (MULTICHANNEL.com, 6/13)....Mets games on SNY are averaging a 2.96 (224,000 HHs), up 18% from last season (MULTICHANNEL.com, 6/14). In Wednesday's issue, a note on Yankees ratings on YES Network should have said the 4.5 season-to-date average was a HH rating. THE DAILY regrets the error (THE DAILY).
SOCCER: Wednesday night's Mexico-Panama Gold Cup soccer match on Univision was seen by more men 18-49 than any other program on U.S. television in any language on any network, drawing 1,959,000 viewers in that demo (THE DAILY).
