Historical Attendance, Ratings Trends For WNBA

The WNBA last season saw average attendance decrease for the fourth straight year,
falling below 8,000 fans for the first time since the league began in ’97.
With the ’07 regular season set to begin this weekend, the following presents
WNBA regular-season attendance since the league’s inception (THE DAILY).
Last season was the fourth of a six-year agreement with ESPN and ABC to carry both the NBA and WNBA. With the WNBA, the league sells all of the advertising and shares revenue with the networks. The following presents WNBA regular-season ratings since ’97. Ratings for ESPN, ESPN2, Lifetime and Oxygen are cable ratings (THE DAILY).
