Procter & Gamble Tops In Cable, Network TV Advertising

Procter & Gamble was once again the biggest advertiser on both cable and network television in ’06, spending close to $1.8B total. AT&T posted the biggest jump on the network side, up 56.0% to $601.6M. Sprint Nextel increased its cable spending by 74.7% to $244.1M, while its network spending dropped by 22.4%. Johnson & Johnson made big cuts in ’06, spending a combined $235.7M less. The following presents the top 20 cable and top 20 network TV advertisers in ’06, with comparisons to ‘05 (AD AGE, 5/14 issue).
