DHL Signs Sponsorship Agreement With NBA In Asia

DHL has signed a three-year deal as the NBA’s express and logistics partner in Asia, according to Wing-Gar Cheng of BLOOMBERG NEWS. FedEx is a marketing partner of the NBA in the U.S. As part of its agreement, DHL will be a partner of the NBA China Games, which will take place this year in Beijing on October 17-20 and will feature the Cavaliers, Magic and Chinese men’s national team. The company will also take the Larry O’Brien trophy on a tour of the Philippines, Taiwan, China and other countries in Asia. DHL also sponsors Shanghai’s Chinese F1 Grand Prix and the HSBC Champions golf tournament. But DHL Express China President Jerry Hsu said, “Neither golf nor Formula One has the impact of what the basketball game can bring to China” (BLOOMBERG NEWS, 5/14).
