Lamour Leading WADA Presidential Candidate

WADA VP JEAN FRANCOIS LAMOUR, the “leading candidate” to become the next president of WADA, “failed two drug tests during his athletic career 20 years ago.” As a fencer, he tested positive for caffeine in ’87 and pholcodine in ’89. The first test was rejected when the B sample turned up negative; he claimed that the pholcodine found in the second test “was prescribed to cure a cold.” Neither offense led to sanctions (AROUNDTHERINGS.com, 5/11).

CRIME & PUNISHMENT: A U.S. Appeals Court upheld the one-year, one-day sentence of Dr. JAMES SHORTT for illegally distributing steroids and HGH to patients, including members of the NFL Panthers.
