Pujols Signs Multi-Year Endorsement Extension With Nike

Cardinals 1B Albert Pujols has signed a multi-year extension of his Nike deal valued at more than $3M and will continue to endorse the company’s shoes, wristbands, batting gloves, eyewear and apparel, according to Liz Mullen of SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL. Nike also has the “option to create a signature Albert Pujols shoe and to feature Pujols in a commercial.” Pujols’ agent, Beverly Hills Sports Council (BHSC) Principal Danny Lozano, said that the deal is one of Nike’s “biggest (baseball) contracts.” Mullen notes Pujols has also signed deals with Upper Deck, 2K Interactive and Pro Performance. A source said that the Pro Performance deal is a seven-figure deal and the 2K Interactive deal is “below seven figures.” Pujols will shoot a commercial for Pro Performance during the offseason.
