HORNETS: Hornets GM Jeff Bower said that the team will conduct its pre-draft workouts next month in Oklahoma City instead of New Orleans’ Alario Center, which is booked during that time. The team had hoped the facility would be available but no deal has been reached. Bower said that a new NBA rule that forbids teams to work out prospects before the pre-draft camp “is the main reason the team must have a flexible schedule for workout dates” (TIMES-PICAYUNE, 5/5).
DODGER STADIUM: D’Backs 1B Conor Jackson said of the yellow field-level seats at Dodger Stadium, “It’s a joke. It’s a hazard. That’s a terrible choice of color. You can wear [sun]glasses. You can wear eye black. Nothing is going to help” (South Florida SUN-SENTINEL, 5/6).
