MIKED UP: Arbitron’s rating data from January 1-April 4 found 1050 ESPN Radio’s “Mike & Mike In The Morning” had the seventh-highest rating in the N.Y. market among males 25-54, registering a 3.4 share in its time slot. The rating is the second-highest among AM stations. The station’s ratings are up for all afternoon programming, with Michael Kay and Stephen A. Smith each pulling a 2.0 share in the 25-54 male demo, and Dan Patrick’s syndicated show registering a 1.5 locally (N.Y. POST, 5/4).
LET IT RAIN: EA Sports has signed a deal with The Weather Channel that will allow users of “NCAA Football 08” to play games “in the real-life weather conditions of the homefield the moment [they] fire up the console” (ESPN THE MAGAZINE, 5/7 issue).
WHERE’S TIGER? In Charlotte, David Scott notes 1,500 myLeaderboard PDAs are being used by tournament officials and guests of Wachovia at this weekend’s PGA Tour Wachovia Championship. The device provides real-time scoring, player location, bios, news flashes and the location of on-course facilities. It is “roughly the size of a deck of cards” and links to the Tour’s ShotLink system. The device will be available for fans at next week’s Players Championship for $20 (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 5/4).
