CLC’s Pat Battle Says Company Could Move Beyond Licensing

Collegiate Licensing Co. President & CEO Pat Battle, whose company has been acquired by IMG, “predicted CLC could expand beyond licensing products to build brands and help create lines of merchandise for clients such as the Heisman Trophy or the NCAA’s Final Four,” according to Matt Kempner of the ATLANTA CONSTITUTION. Battle said he and his father, Bill Battle, who co-founded the company, “never thought we would sell the business. It just made a lot of sense and we really felt like [IMG] could provide some resources that we just didn’t have.” Battle indicated that there are “no plans to move CLC [from Atlanta] or reduce its staff” (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 5/2).
