COLLEGE: North Carolina State Univ. has signed AD LEE FOWLER to a three-year extension through 2013. Fowler’s salary was $245,000 a year as of July 1, 2006, the start of the last fiscal year (WINSTON-SALEM JOURNAL, 4/26).... Rutgers Univ. women’s basketball coach C. VIVIAN STRINGER has agreed to a seven-year contract extension through the 2013-14 season. Stringer’s base salary is $450,000, the same amount as Rutgers football coach GREG SCHIANO. The contract also includes additional compensations and incentives that could push the total value to $950,000 per year. This past year, Stringer earned $605,800, with a base salary of $212,400. Despite DON IMUS’ statements about the team delaying contract talks, “Stringer believes that it had no bearing on her new deal” (Newark STAR-LEDGER, 4/26).
