Dolphins Placing Restrictions On Questions That Can Be Asked On "Fins TV"

The Dolphins “at least twice this offseason” have placed “severe restrictions” on the questions WTVJ-NBC analyst Joe Rose could ask during interviews with team officials that aired on “Fins TV,” a weekly show about the team, according to Barry Jackson of the MIAMI HERALD. Rose’s interview with coach Cam Cameron and GM Randy Mueller was “glaringly devoid of the questions fans want to know.” Instead, they were asked “general questions about how they’re getting along [and] how they’re preparing for the draft.” Dolphins Senior VP/Media Relations Harvey Greene: “It’s Dolphins programming and things are done in partnership with WTVJ. The subject matter for those interviews was agreed upon collectively beforehand.” But Jackson notes the station was “told what to do and agreed only to avoid canceling the interview.” The issue “created tension, and word is Fins TV ... will be retooled this fall” (MIAMI HERALD, 4/13).
