Newsmakers: Zach Johnson’s Unexpected Masters Win Welcomed

THE DAILY each Friday offers our take on the performances over the past week of some people and entities in sports business. Here are this week’s newsmakers.

WIN: ZACH JOHNSON - In a week full of racially-charged dialogue, it is hard not to appreciate the sterling, pressure-packed performance and subsequent common-man appeal of Johnson. Unassuming and refreshing, he personifies some of the best sports has to offer.

LOSE: DON IMUS - Hard to overlook the shock jock who lost two jobs and much of his reputation in a shocking, sudden fall.

DRAW: MLB – During the start of baseball’s season, there were memorable moments like Wednesday night in Boston where FELIX HERNANDEZ outpitched DICE-K, but much of this week was bogged down by a combination of a sleepy Sunday night opener, snow and rain cancellations and relocated games.
