Fans Consuming March Madness Across Variety Of Platforms

CBS’ coverage of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament exemplifies the multi-platform approach many content providers are taking these days. Day one overnight Nielsen ratings are flat from last year, but the 1.5 million streams by 4:00pm ET Thursday for March Madness On Demand surpasses the 1.2 million from ’06, and other Web surfers are checking out highlights on YouTube. But users have noticed several glitches in their MMOD experiences, and CBS is hearing the typical complaints from markets about the games they’re receiving.
