| Nationals Unveil More Details About New Ballpark
|
The Nationals yesterday unveiled a new animated video “offering prospective ticket
holders a glimpse of the ballpark’s inside, including the luxury suites that are
now on sale,” according to Tim Lemke of the WASHINGTON TIMES. All of the 66 suites
are located between the first- and third-base lines, and while they “likely will
end up with corporate sponsors,” the team has temporarily named the various levels
after U.S. presidents. The eight Washington Suites start at $400,000 and offer
up to 880 square feet of space, as well as access to a “baseball-themed sports
bar and lounge populated with [HDTVs], currently dubbed the ‘Nationals Club.’”
One level higher, 22 Lincoln Suites cost about $175,000 each and include “private
buffets, bars and lounges and access to the two-level ‘Stars and Stripes Club,’”
which offers food and a panoramic view of the Anacostia River. The $150,000 Jefferson
Suites also offer access to the club (

Heath notes the Nationals Club will also be available to 1,300 premium-ticket
holders, while the Stars and Stripes Club will also be available to 2,300 club-seat
holders. In addition, the President’s Club will be available to the 500 seats
“immediately behind home plate.” Nationals President Stan Kasten indicated that
in addition to selling naming rights for the ballpark, which will be known as
Nationals Park until a deal is reached, the club is also considering selling the
premium spaces (
