Goodyear Re-Ups As NASCAR’s Tire Supplier With 5-Year Deal

Goodyear Extends NASCAR
Tire Deal Through 2012
Akron-based Goodyear Tire has agreed to a five-year extension to continue as the exclusive tire used in NASCAR’s top three series through 2012. The deal was signed at the Goodyear Dealer Conference on Saturday. Goodyear has had a relationship with NASCAR since the ‘50s (Goodyear). In Akron, Jim Mackinnon reported that Goodyear also unveiled its new marketing and ad slogan, “Get There,” which “prominently features its iconic blimps.” The campaign “kicks off nationally” at the Daytona 500 on February 18. The slogan replaces “On The Wings of Goodyear,” which the company used for several years (AKRON BEACON JOURNAL, 2/4).
